Russian Ministry of Sport and Crocus Group sign collaboration agreement
On 17 July, the Russian Ministry of Sport and Crocus JSC signed a collaboration agreement at the Ministry headquarters. The agreement is part of the federal project Sport as a Lifestyle. The document was signed by the Russian Minister of Sport Pavel Kolobkov and the President of Crocus Group Aras Agalarov.
'Within the federal Sport as a Lifestyle project, the Ministry of Sport places emphasis on working with large corporations,' said Pavel Kolobkov. 'Crocus is a market leader when it comes to construction, development and organising exhibitions. We have partnered with Crocus for this year's international forum 'Russia — the Sports Power', which will be held in Nizhny Novgorod in October. The forum consists of two parts: a business part and an exhibition. Crocus will assist with organising the latter and also take part in the business programme. The Ministry of Sport supports the Crocus initiative to hold a sports exhibition next May, which will be dedicated to developing business activities in sport.'
'The time has come when we all understand that technological progress, business and sport are inseparable; they go hand in hand. A huge number of sporting events are related to modern technologies in one way or another,' said Aras Agalarov. 'Crocus has all the technological wherewithal and other necessary resources to organise exhibitions at the highest level. I believe that our collaboration on the Sport as a Lifestyle project will be mutually exciting, effective and very fruitful.'
The agreement between the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and JSC Crocus has a three-year term. The document specifies different forms of cooperation, including providing methodological, information-based and organisational support when holding joint events to promote sport and physical education; creating and facilitating the operations of joint task forces as well as groups for consultations and expert advice, in order to coordinate, assess and further develop collaboration; organising conferences, exhibitions, seminars and forums in Russia and internationally.
